Life Lesson #378

So yesterday we were having a WONDERFUL day at the park. We were swinging, going down the slide, going down the fireman pole, taking turns making the merry-go-round spin, singing, running having a blast. Well it was getting towards the end of our time there and we were swinging. Connor decided that he wanted to stop and go down the slide. So I stopped him and he jumped off the swing. I was trying to tell him something VERY important when he headed off for the slide and BAM!!!!!!! the girl in the swing next to him smacked him right in the head! He flipped over and his face slammed right into the sand. He was screaming, laying face down in the sand. I ran over to him, pulled him out of the way and picked him up, dusted him off, looked for blood (none), wiped the sand off his face and out of his mouth. Hugged him and tried to help him calm down. I looked over to the girl who had ran into him. She looked like she had just ran over someones cat. I tried to tell her I knew it was an accident and that she didn't mean for it to happen but I don't think that he helped. I told her mom that Connor was fine, just shook up. We went over to the bench and cuddled and calmed him down. Just a few minutes after he was off running around and going down the slides again. His ear and cheek were really red but I didn't really see anything else until we got to the car. I thought he just had some dirt on his forehead but it was really tiny little dots where his head had smashed into the sand! He still has a few of them but nothing that really showed up on camera!
Life Lesson #378: When exiting the swings, walk straight forward until you clear their path, then and only then may you go left or right.
I hope that we don't have to revisit that lesson again!

So I had my appointment with the midwife tonight. Everything is going well. The little heart beat seemed to be going really fast. I made a comment about it and she said, "Yeah the baby is probably agitated because I was pushing him/her around to see if he/she was head down." I was thinking, nice, push my baby around and get it all ticked off why don't ya! But it was nice to know that baby is head down and growing well with a nice strong heart beat. Only 2 more months to go!!!!

The Baby's Room

Since I don't have any baby pictures yet, I decided to put up some pictures of me pregnant! I had one at 4 weeks, 17 weeks, 25 and 30.

The guest bed. Paul's sister Robin, aka Rara, will be staying with us this summer again so this will be her bed and the baby will be in the bassinet in our room for a few months.
